Rabbi Shimon Hecht,  is excited to report on the progress being made in the construction of a brand new, stunning Mikvah in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The  securing of the foundation and pouring of the cement for a men’s and women’s Mikvah has been completed. Installation of steel framing for the building is now underway.
“The Mikvah, which is being constructed with assistance from the esteemed Drizin family, is a dream come true for Park Slope”, said Rabbi Hecht. “For years we have wished to have a local Mikvah for those who want to keep this vital Mitzvah, but find it inconvenient to have to travel out of the neighborhood. G-d Willing, upon completion, the Mikvah will be a true Kiddush Hashem. Its stunning facility will enable the fulfillment of this Mitzvah to be performed in ultimate comfort”, continued Rabbi Hecht.
The Mikvah building will house a women’s mikvah, men’s mikvah, keilim mikvah, and Bikur Cholim hospitality suites. Renowned contractor, Yanky Sufrin, is directing the entire project with great dedication. With an impending construction deadline, Yanky, was present until 6:00 p.m. erev Shabbos to insure the pouring of the cement for the Mikvaos was properly completed before Shabbos! The Park Slope Jewish community and surrounding neighborhoods are eagerly awaiting the completion of what promises to be a wonderful addition that will greatly enhance observance of Yiddishkeit in the region.
